We welcome you to share in the warmth
and comfort of our home set back on a large corner lot (about 3/4 acre) in the Brick Street
District, and located in the heart of Tyler near the downtown square. It
is nestled under many old Pecan, Willow Oak, Chinese Pistachio,
Sweetgum and Magnolia trees, with ample off-street private
parking available. The closest Bed & Breakfast Inn to downtown, the manor is
also located
near the
YMCA
, where an outdoor tennis court, jogging track, an indoor pool, racquetball courts,
weight room and cynergy circuit room facilities are available.
The house, which is almost 4000 square feet, features 17 original 1884 stained-glass
windows, doors and transoms, original Oak and Heart of Pine floors throughout,
crystal chandeliers, and several porches and balconies for our guests to enjoy.
The house is centrally air conditioned and heated for your comfort. In
the
Rear Garden
, you will find our large gazebo-covered spa and deck, arbor, along
with our 1920's Iron Ore fence wall, wishing well, Koi pool and Goldfish
fountain.

The 4 guest
rooms
upstairs and 2
downstairs with fireplaces in the main house,
are all delightfully decorated and furnished with
period American antiques. The Front
Parlor
is where our guests can visit
and read from our extensive library, or check out the local news from the daily newspaper we provide. All the rooms have private baths which include wall-mounted hairdryers.
Some bathrooms have restored antique claw-foot tubs with shower. Wireless (WIFI) Internet, cordless
telephones with FREE local calls, and irons and ironing boards are available. Plus, all rooms have cable television (most with TruFlat screens) and digital alarm clocks. All rooms are non-smoking, with smoking areas available outside on a covered porch or balcony.
Directly behind the main house, the
Rockway Carriage House
features
very private accommodations on a 2nd floor. With over 700 square feet, the Rockway Carriage House includes a private kitchen, dining room, and parlor, and can accommodate up to 3 people. Enjoy the private balcony and relax underneath the trees in the adjacent outside sitting area.
When you arrive, we will have home baked cookies waiting for you on the sideboard in the main Dining Room, or in the kitchen if you are in one of the carriage houses. Complimentary refreshments are located in the guest refrigerators. In the main house, the guest refrigerator is located in the armoire in the rear hall. Also, you can prepare yourself a hot beverage (flavored or herbal teas, coffee, hot cocoa or apple cider) anytime during your stay. In the morning, freshly brewed coffee services
are available. In the formal
Dining Room
, you will find that a bountiful
all-you-can-eat country breakfast awaits you, served to you family-style on Johnson Brothers'
Blue Willow china with crystal and silver, while classical music is played
for your enjoyment. We look forward to serving YOU at the Woldert-Spence Manor!
